Your holidays in France can't pass without The All Important Culinary Experience. This region is well known for the famous Aïl Rose de Lautrec (garlic), the edible chestnut, lamb's meat of the Segala region and canard (duck). Delicious cheeses are found all over France, we are no exeption. This region is home to the Roquefort cheese.
Local wines are abundant. The wines we serve are form the Gaillac, Marcillac, Saint-Chinian, Madiran and Vin de Pays d'Oc regions. Marc is a graduated wine specialist from the Dutch Wine Academy and will organise small scale wine tasting events in our own 'cave' upon request.
Table d'hôtes
You can join our table d'hôtes every Saturday and during high season on Friday as well. We'll serve a communal 4-course dinner that includes starters, main course, cheese and dessert. Our cuisine is mainly French, with a Mediterranean touch that crosses the borders into Italy, Spain and North-Africa. We'll dine al fresco on the terrace on the backside of the house, semi-al fresco in front of the bread oven or, depending on the weather, in our kitchen, so that you'll be able to steal a glance at what the day's chef prepares.
The menu
The menu is set weekly and depends on season, whim and availibility of vegetables from the garden. Regional products, often from almost next door neigbours, are served. To whet your appetite we give you an example of a typical menu:
Fêta-rolls
with grilled aubergine and a sesamy honey dipping sauce
+++
Home-smoked duck breast
with duck-filled chard canellonis and wild mushrooms
+++
A choice of cheese from the Tarn, Aveyron and Pyrenées regions
served with home-made walnut wine
+++
Olive oil icecream with caramelised figs
The price of this menu is € 32.50 per person and includes wines, coffee and fresh mint or verveine tea. We serve a children's menu for children up to 10 years for € 12.50 per child. If you let us know beforehand we can adapt our menu to special dietary or vegetarian wishes.
If you wish to join our Table d'Hôtes on the evening of your arrival, please let us know on the booking form or several days in advance. Dinner starts around 8 PM.
To take home and enjoy afterwards ...
